Highlighting Uganda’s proactive efforts, she referenced comprehensive guidelines already issued by the Government to monitor, regulate, and enforce workplace safety. She further called upon technocrats and regulators to strengthen enforcement mechanisms, ensuring compliance and accountability across industries.

The Prime Minister stressed that the Vision Zero agenda is not a distant aspiration but a practical reality, insisting that every worker deserves to return home safely at the end of the day. She also encouraged employees to play an active role in safeguarding their own welfare by reporting lapses in workplace safety.

In conclusion, Rt. Hon. Nabbanja noted that safety should not be perceived as a barrier to growth, but rather as a foundation for sustainable productivity. She extended appreciation to the organizers, partners, and sponsors of the International Vision Zero Africa Conference 2025 for their invaluable contributions to this cause.

On Day 2 of the conference, UIA Technical Assistant, Non-Life Insurance - Mr. Gilbert Emojong delivered remarks on behalf of the Association. He also drew attention to the need for greater engagement with Uganda’s informal sector, particularly high-risk groups such as boda boda riders, who are often under-represented in safety and insurance initiatives. Mr. Emojong concluded by reiterating that UIA remains steadfast in its mission to build stronger partnerships that enhance safety, health, and protection for every worker in Uganda.

The International Vision Zero Africa Conference 2025 provided a vital platform for sharing best practices, strengthening collaboration, and reaffirming the collective commitment across Africa to create safe and sustainable workplaces for all.
