We held a two-day training at the Safe Boda Academy in Kyebando. This was aimed at equipping Safe Boda trainers with knowledge on Motor Third Party Insurance Policy to relay the same to the Safe Boda riders.

The training was led by our Technical Manager, Non-Life – Juliet Igonu & Technical Assistant, Non-Life - Gilbert Emojong. We were also joined by Mr. Hudson Mabirizi from Liberty Uganda for this exercise. The training revolved around the benefits of being insured with key focus on Motor Third Party Insurance and the Claims process.

While closing the training, UIA CEO - Jonan Kisakye thanked our technical team for conducting the training and appreciated the Safe Boda trainers & management for taking part and supporting the partnership.

Jonan said that Motor Third Party Insurance is the most misunderstood cover, which makes it critical for the Insurance Industry to continually engage the masses directly to facilitate better understanding whenever the opportunity arises. He also talked about the importance of the Claims aspect that will help the public appreciate the cover better knowing that it indeed works for them.

Jonan addressing the Trainers.

He decried the misinformation about Motor Third Party Insurance in the public domain and hoped that the training helps to shed more light on the key components of the cover, its benefits and what Motor Third Party Insurance actually stands for. He also emphasized the importance of training the trainers to maximize the ripple impact.

Jonan hands over a Certificate of participation to one of the Trainers.

Jonan therefore challenged the Safe Boda trainers to pass on the information to the riders and urged the UIA technical team to keep engaging them periodically to refresh their knowledge on Motor Third Party Insurance.

All the trainers who attended the training were awarded Certificates of Participation.
