On 18th December 2023, the UIA Team led by CEO Jonan Kisakye handed over financial support to Teresa Ministries Uganda, a non-profit organization that runs childcare homes for homeless children. The handover took place at the UIA Offices in Kololo.

Jonan commended the Teresa Ministries team on their impactful role of looking after abandoned children. He indicated that UIA would continue to render its support and partnership through insurance to Teresa Ministries to ease their work.

Managing Director of Teresa Ministries - Maria Mazzi conveyed her gratitude to UIA for the support. She also explained the process of acquiring the homeless babies noting that the organization’s objective is always to unify the children with their biological parents and that it is only after this fails, that the babies are put up for adoption. Teresa Ministries’ Administrator - Moses Mukiibi added that the organization prioritizes finding a suitable family for the babies over keeping them in the orphanage for long.

UIA staff present included: Research Officer - Angela Kemigisa, Market Development Manager – Annet Katusiime, Manager Life, Medical & Pensions - Badru Bengo, IT Officer – Aggrey Tumwine who contributed an extra amount of money on top of the donation further pledging to continue rendering support on a monthly basis and Finance & Administration Manager - Joshua Makuyi who voiced his desire to adopt one of the babies.
