UIA Executive Committee (EC) members recently organized a Breakfast Meeting in honor of outgoing EC Member - Mr. Gabriel Kuria at Serena Hotel, Kampala.

Board Vice Chairman - Mr. Paul Muwanga described Mr. Kuria as an honest, confident and passionate person from whom Uganda’s Insurance Industry has benefitted tremendously. Mr. Dan Musiime praised Mr. Kuria’s contribution to Medical Insurance with his efforts of unifying the players already bearing fruit. Mr. Peter Makhanu lauded Mr. Kuria for his articulation skills, mobilization skills & respectfulness while Mr. Milton Asiimwe described him as a joy to work with, highlighting his light-heartedness & passion for accountability.       

UIA CEO, Mr. Jonan Kisakye recognized Mr. Kuria’s contribution to the Association and the Insurance Industry at large. He expressed his admiration for his commanding presence, sincerity, candidness & innovation.  

Mr. Kuria appreciated the remarks made by the EC members and revealed that he made the decision to go back home about a year ago. He advised them to plan their professional & personal journeys. He fondly reflected on his time with UIA, noting that he enjoyed working with the Association. 

Having worked in Uganda for the past six years with ICEA Lion General Insurance, Mr. Kuria decided to return to Kenya at the end of his contract. As a token of appreciation, the EC Members handed him a portrait and other gifts. We wish him all the best in his future endeavors.
