The Uganda Insurers Association (UIA) has announced 20 million shillings sponsorship towards the forthcoming 29th UMA International Trade Fair slated for the 3rd to 10th October 2023 at the UMA showgrounds, Lugogo.
This year’s Trade Fair will run under the theme "Driving Manufacturing and Trade Efficiency through Digital Transformation and Innovation."
Speaking during a media briefing held at UMA head office in Kampala, UIA Research Officer, Ms. Angella Kemigisa who spoke on behalf of the CEO Jonan Kisakye reiterated UIA’s commitment towards supporting events organized by UMA.
“We are proud to be Bronze Sponsors of this year’s Trade Fair. As UIA, this is not the last time we shall be sponsoring the Annual Trade Fair. UIA and UMA have a long history of productive collaboration on different activities aimed at supporting the businesses for our respective members.
Over the years our partnership has been focusing on the events and exhibitions to create awareness about the value of insurance to businesses.” Kemigisa added.
Kemigisa encouraged players in the manufacturing sector to consider taking up insurance policies for their businesses as it could shield them in times of uncertainties.
She added that UIA’s sponsorship is more than a financial contribution but also a strategic investment in the future for the economy.
“During the week at UMA, UIA will rally all its 37 members to showcase the different insurance products they venture in and also help explain to Ugandans the benefits of insurance as opposed to the myths that it’s for the rich.
The UMA Chairperson Deo Kayemba commended UIA and other sponsors for taking part in this year’s annual event that will cast a spotlight on the creative power of industrialists and their ability to leverage technological advancements for value addition.
"We invite businesses, entrepreneurs, and innovators from every sector to join us at the UMA 29th Uganda International Trade Fair. This event is not just a platform for showcasing products; it is a celebration of resilience, creativity, and the power of innovation. Together, we will drive manufacturing and trade efficiency through digital transformation," Deo J.B Kayemba, UMA Chairman.
