The Insurance Industry Sports Gala 2024 took place at Kampala International School of Uganda (KISU) in Bukoto on June 29, 2024. It was organized by the Insurance Training College (ITC) & the Insurance Regulatory Authority (IRA) with the Uganda Insurers Association (UIA) taking part as sponsors & participants underscoring our commitment to community engagement and industry cohesion. The gala brought together different industry players including our members (insurers & reinsurers), insurance brokers, bancassurance agents to mention but a few.
One of the highlights of the gala was the spirited football match featuring our Non-Life Technical Assistant - Gilbert Emojong, in which our team showcased remarkable skill against Uganda Adjusters, Valuers, Engineers and Loss Assessor's Association (UAEVLA). Our team comprising the Insurance Technical College (ITC) & Insurance Brokers Association of Uganda (IBAU) went on to secure a commanding victory over Excel Insurance, advancing to the round of 16.
ITC CEO - Saul Sseremba expressed gratitude to the partners for their unwavering support, recognizing the CEOs as foundational pillars of the insurance industry. He applauded the participants for their commitment and sportsmanship. UIA’s Business Development Manager - Annet Katusiime presented awards to the football first runners-up: AAR as she congratulated UAEVLA who emerged the football champions.
In the event’s closing remarks, IRA CEO - Alhaj Ibrahim Kaddunabbi Lubega expressed gratitude towards the organizing committee for their dedication and highlighted the pivotal role of such events in fostering unity within the insurance industry. He commended all participants for their enthusiastic involvement and extended heartfelt congratulations to the winners across the various categories.
UAEVLA emerged as the gala’s Overall Champions, A Plus Group were the 1st Runner-up & Prudential Assurance, the 2nd runner-up. The Insurance Industry Sports Gala 2024 was a vibrant celebration of camaraderie and athleticism within Uganda’s insurance industry.
