Insurance Coverage and Needs Study for Traders

This research in partnership with KACITA (Kampala City Traders Association) and its affiliates: MBACITA (Mbarara City Traders Association) & MACITA (Mbale City Traders Association) is meant to inform UIA and its members on insurance coverage of traders: existing gaps, why some traders are not embracing insurance beyond the mandatory covers and to understand the unique risks that they face. 
This will in turn facilitate the crafting of appropriate insurance policies to cater for the traders. 
 

Objectives 

  • To understand the traders Insurance coverage. 
  • To find out the challenges that traders face in accessing Insurance. 
  • To find out traders’ unmet insurance needs. 
     

Dates 

  • Greater Kampala commenced on 30th June 2023 and it took 10 days. 
  • Mbarara commenced on 3rd July, 2023 and it took 8 days. 
  • Mbale will commence on 7th July, 2023 and it took 8 days.
