TRAINING OF UGANDA POLICE TRAFFIC OFFICERS
Uganda Police Force is mandated by the Constitution of Uganda to undertake traffic policing in the country to ensure that the roads are safe and free from road crashes as much as possible. There are many emerging issues that concern in the implementation of the modern traffic challenges. Currently, traffic police operational practices are challenged by modern crime and fraudulent tendencies which undermine the well-intentioned insurance industry that need to be urgently addressed. The Police needs to be assisted with modern road crash investigation skills in order to be able to address this vice. Without control of the fraudsters in the industry, road users risk to lose as there is no compensation for them in cases of crashes.
