The first CEOs’ Club Cocktail at the Insurers House this year was a celebration of partnership, progress, and the power of collaboration in Uganda’s insurance industry.
This event was Organized by the the Insurance Brokers Association of Uganda (IBAU) and hosted by the Uganda Insurers Association (UIA), the event took place on Friday, 11th April, 2025, at the Insurers House Gardens. It brought together CEOs of UIA member companies & IBAU members companies, for a vibrant evening of networking, and discussing how to collaborate better, in the interest of Uganda’s Insurance industry.
Our CEO, Jonan Kisakye, shared his appreciation for the big turnup at the event. “Your presence here tonight is a testament to the incredible strength and dedication of Uganda’s insurance industry,” Jonan remarked. He spoke passionately about the importance of such gatherings, emphasizing how they foster collaboration and drive the collective mission to enhance insurance services across the country.
A major highlight of the evening was the unveiling of the 7thAnnual IBAU Conference slated for 23rd -25th April 2025 at Las Vegas Hotel Mbarara under the theme: “A whole new world” Deep dive into Global Trends as we re-imagine the world and business land scape, a platform that has become instrumental in shaping the insurance landscape in Uganda. Jonan expressed UIA’s admiration for IBAU’s continued efforts. “Our collaboration with IBAU has always been a cornerstone of progress in the industry,” he said, reaffirming UIA’s commitment to supporting initiatives that promote innovation, growth, and sustainability.
Ritah Mutesi, Vice Chairperson of IBAU, shared similar sentiments in her remarks, She acknowledged the vital role of partnerships, expressing gratitude to insurance companies and UIA for their unwavering sponsorship of the Annual IBAU Conference. She added that these collaborations are what make events like the CEOs’ Club Cocktail so impactful for the entire sector.
The UIA Executive Committee was represented by the Hon. Treasurer & CEO of Goldstar Insurance, John Kawuma who commended the insurance companies that have sponsored the 7th Annual IBAU Conference and applauded UIA for partnering with IBAU to pull off a successful evening. He urged everyone to take part in the upcoming IBAU Conference set to be held in Mbarara this month.
As the evening progressed, guests mingled, exchanged ideas, and reflected on the industry’s achievements and aspirations. The cocktail wasn’t just about celebration; it was a reminder of what’s possible when stakeholders unite around a shared vision. From seasoned leaders, to new faces, there was a renewed sense of purpose and excitement about the future of insurance in Uganda. And if this evening was anything to go by, the future of the industry looks brighter than ever.
